About

Safestay London Holland Park is ideally located in the heart of London. The hostel consists of 3 buildings, including the East Wing of the park’s original Jacobean building and has a private courtyard garden within Holland Park. The building was previously owned by YHA, but due to years of neglect, the property was in a very poor state.

We set about demolishing various shower blocks, existing kitchen areas, reception, office areas and did a complete revision of the layout to ensure it worked for our client. Getting the maximum amount of beds was key on this site.

The Reception area was relocated and we created 2 new lounge areas. We demolished a lot of the old servery/ restaurant area and completely retransformed the spaces, creating large communal dining areas and a new bar area. New feature ceilings were introduced into this space, as ceilings were low, but it gave an industrial, modern look.

New dorm rooms were created and new ensuite bathrooms were introduced into existing dorms. The communal bathrooms were completed stripped out and redesigned. The Jacobean building whilst a beautiful building had been stripped of its original features, so we merged the old and contemporary and created a fun and dynamic interior.

Black Box Interiors, once again carried out the procurement on this project. This was one of our more challenging projects, but also one of the most enjoyable.
